Man Chases the Body but Forgets the Soul | Real Love

The Body Will Turn to Dust. What Will Your Soul Become?

Written by Shoaib Nasir

You wake up. Before you even wash your face, your hand reaches for your phone. You scroll. Face after face. Body after body. Something inside you feels hungry, restless, unsatisfied. You think another body will finally fill that hunger. It won't. It never has.

Let me tell you about Shoaib.

Shoaib is 29 years old. Every single morning, his phone is the first thing he touches, before his eyes are even fully open. He scrolls for twenty minutes straight before his feet touch the floor. Fifty photos. Sixty. Sometimes more. And somewhere in his chest, a quiet ache opens up. He doesn't understand it. He just keeps scrolling, hoping the next photo will finally close that gap. It never does. It just gets wider.

One night, sleep refuses to come. Shoaib places his phone face down on the table and simply sits there. No music playing. No scrolling. Just silence, thick and unfamiliar. For the first time in years, he asks himself one honest question: what am I actually looking for?

He has no answer. But something inside him finally goes still. And that stillness feels more real than every single photo he scrolled past all week combined.

Maybe you know a Shoaib. Maybe, if you're honest tonight, you are Shoaib.

The Body Is the House. The Soul Is the One Who Lives There.

Your body was shaped from the earth, and one day, without asking your permission, it will return to the earth. Buried, or turned to ash. The face you cannot stop thinking about, the body you keep chasing through screens and streets and late night conversations, none of it was ever built to last. Not one single body on this entire planet is permanent. Not even yours.

But there is a part of you that no mirror has ever satisfied. The part that feels love, guilt, peace, loneliness, awe, and that strange heaviness at two in the morning when the room goes quiet and the phone finally goes dark. That part has a name. Call it the soul. It is the part of you that keeps asking questions your body has no answers for.

Think of your body as a house, and your soul as the one who actually lives inside it. And here is the uncomfortable truth playing out across the entire world right now: millions of men are busy repainting the walls of that house while a stranger quietly starves inside.

Most of us have spent years decorating that house. New clothes. New gym routine. New photos for the feed. New people to chase, new ways to be noticed, new filters to hide behind. But we never once knock on the actual door and ask who is home. Not because we are bad men. Because nobody ever sat us down and taught us to ask.

That stops today. Right here, with you, reading this line.

You Are Not Broken. You Have Just Been Feeding the Wrong Thing.

This is not a lecture built to shame you. The pull toward bodies, images, attention, and comparison is deeply, painfully human. And it has been made worse by a world engineered down to the smallest detail to keep your eyes low and your thumb moving.

Every app on your phone was designed by people who studied exactly how to hijack your attention. It wants your eyes on a photo, never on your own breath. It wants you swiping endlessly, never sitting still long enough to ask a real question. It wants you comparing bodies, never once wondering who made them. So if you feel trapped in this chase, understand this clearly: nothing is wrong with you. The trap was built with precision, and no one warned you before you walked straight into it.

Here is the truth strong enough to break that trap wide open. Every body on this earth, every color, every shape, every face, comes from one single Maker. Chasing body after body is like standing in front of a thousand paintings your entire life and never once turning around to look at the Painter. You fall in love with the colors and completely forget who mixed them. Your worth was never sitting inside a mirror. It was never hiding inside a swipe. And it is certainly not waiting for you inside the next face either.

Do This Today

Stop scrolling for sixty seconds and actually do these. Small action always beats a big speech.

1. Sit alone for ten full minutes. No phone anywhere near you. Just breathe.

2. Ask yourself honestly, what is my soul hungry for right now?

3. Before judging anyone by their body, ask yourself how they treat people who can do absolutely nothing for them.

4. Do one genuinely kind thing today for someone who can never repay you.

5. Tonight, before you sleep, write one honest line. Today I fed my body, or today I fed my soul.

Done daily, these small steps quietly build a different man within thirty days. Not a better looking man. A realer one. A man who finally recognizes himself.

The Seven Day Soul Challenge

Go deeper this week. No shortcuts, no skipping days.

Day one, no phone for the first thirty minutes after waking up.

Day two, sit in complete silence for ten minutes with zero distractions.

Day three, say thank you out loud to the One who made you.

Day four, have one real conversation about someone's heart instead of their looks.

Day five, do one good deed that nobody will ever find out about.

Day six, write down what you truly want from love, not what social media quietly sold you.

Day seven, ask yourself with full honesty, what have I actually been building, my body or my soul.

By day seven, something inside you will shift. Not because of magic. Simply because, maybe for the first time in years, you finally sat still and listened to yourself.

Love That Lasts Is Never Only About Skin

Think honestly about real love for a moment. Skin changes. It ages. It gets sick. It eventually loses every single thing that first caught your eye. If your love was built only on skin, it will collapse the day that skin changes.

But love built on the soul, on how someone thinks, how they treat the weak, how they carry their pain quietly, how they choose truth when a lie would have been far easier, that kind of love refuses to weaken with age. It only grows, because you fell for something that was never designed to fade in the first place.

So maybe the real question isn't only how does this person look. Maybe it's how does this person make my soul feel. And deeper still, how do they treat people who have absolutely nothing to offer them.

One Day, the Dust Returns to Dust

Do not hate your body. Respect it fully. Take care of it. Keep it strong and healthy. But never worship it, because it was never your final destination. It is simply a house, nothing more, nothing less. And a wise man eventually stops decorating that house long enough to check who is actually living inside.

Right now, before your hand reaches for that phone again, sit quietly for ten minutes. Ask your soul one honest, uncomfortable question.

What are you truly hungry for?

Then go and feed exactly that.

One day, this body you've spent so much energy chasing and decorating will return quietly to dust. Only your soul will remain standing. So feed what will actually stay.
